Miss Silicon Valley
My pageant journey started about a year ago when I decided to get serious about competing in the Miss America System. I am an avid traveler, pet lover, and knowledge seeker of business and philanthropy. I am currently employed at Cisco Systems supporting Business Strategy in Global Infrastructure-IT. In my role, I contribute to developing new methods, techniques and criteria while collaborating cross functionally to align strategy and direction with corporate and divisional approaches. I am part of Cisco's Early Career Leadership Team and always have an interest for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Graduating from University of California Davis with a B.S. in Managerial Economics, Minor in Education, and Emphasis in Computer Science, I have always been passionate about growth and development for younger women throughout her academic and work experiences. I serve as the Director of the Miss CEO Ambassador Program, where I work with young girls to help develop their leadership skills so they can be the driving force for change for future generations. I also volunteer my time with Olimpico Learning, where bring an after-school Robotics program to low income schools to help inspire their students to pursue STEM related fields.Winning the title of Miss Silicon Valley allowed me to stand on the platform: Raise your Voice-Women Empowerment, which is all about finding your authentic self and feeling empowered to create change within your community. I created the term “Crownmunity" to represent equality, collaboration, and disrupting the physical perception of the crown to not just focus on outer beauty, but inner beauty as well. When I envision the future around this movement, I think about someone that has instilled these qualities and has become the next CEO, is leading a team to create social impact, and ultimately inspiring the next generation of leaders. On July 1st, I compete for the title of Miss California. I bring with me my experiences at over 50 events, my passion for change, and my personality to be that role model for young women around the world. When I think about my 17-year-old self, who was excited about building her first robot or learning her first programming language, I imagine how proud she is for having the courage to follow my passions. As an Indian American Woman in technology, wanting to own my own business venture, and is passionate about gender equality, I aspire to lead by example and implement change to benefit future generations.Sabina's day job is a Business Systems Analyst at Cisco, where she uses data to help drive strategic business decisions.
