Focus Areas
In December 2022, Indiaspora launched our newest List project, the DiasporaNEXT Social Entrepreneurs List. This list features young Indian-origin social entrepreneurs who are making impactful contributions to society through their enterprises. Our virtual launch events featured honorees on the list from the US, Canada, Singapore and India.
The launch event consisted of two sessions. Session I for western time zones featured Murali Vullaganti, Founder of PeopleShores, who helped us with this list project as a juror, Shivani Garg Patel from Skoll Foundation, Vivek Kopparthi, founder of Neolight, Alwar Pillai and Abid Virani, founders of Fable Tech Labs, and Pooja Viswanathan, founder of Braze Mobility.
Session II for eastern time zones featured Jayesh Parekh, Managing Partner at Good Startup, who helped us with this list project as a juror, Prerna Wadikar, CEO of Action for India, Ajaita Shah, Founder of Frontier Markets, Anshul Tewari, Founder of Youth Ki Awaaz, Anto Philip, founder of Under 25, and Mayur Singh, founder of Green Collective.
In October 2022, during our 10th Anniversary Forum in San Jose, we hosted a DiasporaNEXT panel of young social entrepreneurs who spoke about their careers and experiences. The panel featured Siv Sambasivam, founding member of the GoodRx team, Anto Philip, founder of Under25, Vivek Kopparthi founder of Neolight, and Sheel Tyle, founder of Amplo.
In 2021 we held a virtual event titled the DiasporaNEXT Authors Roundtable | Diaspora Stories told through Literature.
The event featured authors and playwrights to showcase stories written about and rooted in the Diaspora community. Incredible and talented women shared about their works and their impetus for writing, and offered inspiration and advice for aspiring writers. You can watch the full event here.
