Deepak Ahuja
Chief Business and Financial Officer, Zipline
Deepak Ahuja is the Chief Business and Financial Officer at Zipline. He is a seasoned finance executive having served as CFO of Tesla starting in 2008 till Nov 2015 and then from March 2017 to March 2019. Over his two tenures, Tesla grew from a private company at pre-revenue stage to a large public company with an annualized revenue of almost $28 Billion and physical presence in over 10 countries. Prior to that Deepak worked at Ford Motor Co for 15 years as a finance executive in several roles. He served as Controller for small cars product development program from August 1993 to July 2008, and as Chief Financial Officer for Ford of Southern Africa from February 2003 to June 2006, where he oversaw the finance, legal and IT functions. He also served as the CFO for Auto Alliance International from September 2000 to February 2003. He has served as an Independent Director of FireEye, Inc., from September 2015 until 2017.
Deepak was named CFO of the Year in 2010 for small public companies by Silicon Valley Business Journal. In 2014, he was named Bay Area CFO of the year for large public companies by San Francisco Business Times. He was also named 2019 CFO of the year by CFO Dive magazine.
Deepak holds an M.S.I.A. (which was subsequently re-designated as an M.B.A.) from Carnegie Mellon University, a M.S. degree in Materials Engineering from Northwestern University and a B. Tech in Ceramic Engineering from Banaras Hindu University in India.
