Seema Chaturvedi

Seema has over 20 years of capital markets and financial management experience. As an entrepreneur, investor & investment banker, she brings a unique perspective to the strategic planning process to enhance stakeholder value. She is the Founder and Managing Partner of AWE Funds, a platform for investing early stage capital in women owned, led and influenced businesses.
Seema is extremely passionate about promoting entrepreneurship. She co-founded and is past president of the Detroit chapter of TiE, an organization to foster entrepreneurship in 2002. She was later elected to the Global Board of Trustees of TiE Inc. She founded and leads as chairwoman TiE Global’s marquee women’s entrepreneurship program: Project All India Roadshow for Women’s Economic Empowerment through Entrepreneurship (AIRSWEEE), for which she obtained funding from the US Department of State. AIRSWEEE 1.0 mentored 125 women from 27 Tier 2 and 3 cities in India. AIRSWEEE 2.0 will seek to mentor 450 women entrepreneurs from 30 cities in Tier 2 & 3 cities in India.
Seema has received several honors including Crain’s Detroit Business “40 under 40”, Crain’s Detroit Business “Detroit’s Most Influential Business Women,” Detroit Historical Society’s Detroit’s Enterprising Women, Asian Indian Women’s Association’s Women of Distinction, inducted to Michigan Hall of Fame for Enterprising Women, Certificate of Recognition from the US House of Representatives, named Crain’s Detroit Influential Women in Tech, and the Special Recognition Award for promoting Women Entrepreneurship by TiE Global.
As a prolific speaker, Seema was invited to US Department of State’s International Speakers Program in 2017. Additionally, she has participated in several international conferences as a speaker and panelist including Mackinac Leadership Conference, IFC Healthcare Conference, Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, TiE Summit and Private Equity in India conferences. To support economic development, Seema has been a founding member of the Great Lakes Manufacturing Council, and has served on several boards including co-chairing Michigan IT Summit, Marygrove College in Michigan, International Business Council at Automation Alley. She currently serves on the boards of TiE Detroit and the Miami-Dade Urban Debate League.
Seema holds a Masters degree in Finance from Boston College and an undergraduate degree with honors in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College of the Delhi University in India.
