Annie Parayadipura

Coordinator, Global Programs

Growing up in South Florida gave Annie an opportunity to expose herself to the beauty of international affairs. In addition to her family from Kerala keeping her in touch with her Malayali roots, Miami exposed her to Latin American and Caribbean cultures.  She became fascinated by foreign languages which led her to pursue Spanish as her third language. She studied International Affairs and International Human Rights at Florida International University, and she is a proud panther alumnus! Before working at Indiaspora, Annie was teaching English as a Second Language in various parts of the world including: Sri Lanka, Spain, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She also served a year of AmeriCorps national service with a non-profit organization in Miami, the International Rescue Committee, focusing on anti-human trafficking awareness and community engagement. Nowadays, Annie spends most of her time learning Latin dances, cooking special fusion dishes for her family, and learning Portuguese.
