Neha Dewan
Senior Vice President of Operations & General Counsel
Neha Dewan serves as Indiaspora's VP of Operations and General Counsel. Prior to joining Indiaspora, Neha worked at several law firms, served in various agencies in New York City, and was appointed as the Deputy Director and General Counsel for Mayor DeBlasio's Office of Appointments. She also clerked for the Honorable Julian A. Cook, Jr. in the Eastern District of Michigan.
Neha has been long active in both local and national politics. She founded several grassroots organizations that supported presidential candidates, and was appointed by a presidential candidate to the National AAPI Leadership Council. Neha is fiercely dedicated to engaging, educating, and mobilizing the South Asian community to increase civic engagement and political participation nationwide. She has also held leadership positions in organizations dedicated to voting rights and the training and supporting of political entrepreneurs. Neha has also been active in her local community board and political clubs. She served as the President of the South Asian Bar Association of New York and was on the Board of Directors for several years. She was also appointed as a guest of honor by the Consulate General of India in New York City where she spoke about gender equality for International Women's Day.
An avid traveler, Neha has visited over 50 countries spanning six continents, though these days her children keep her local. Neha is a tennis enthusiast and an obsessed Roger Federer fan. She's also a huge foodie and enjoys watching documentaries and listening to podcasts.
